Course Description

This 3-Day MCT© Elective Course offers further education into the world of therapeutic cupping including Pathology & Scar Tissue, Magnetism & Therapeutic Cupping, and Advanced Applications of MCT©.

MCT© for Pathology & Scar Tissue Last day in the MCT© Education Company’s Full Certification program. Divided into two parts, the first half of the day is dedicated to pathology and how MCT© can be used to address a wide variety of conditions. Participants will learn about client assessment, intake forms, and treatment plans with therapeutic cupping. Participants will also learn about using MCT© applications for various pathological conditions, including dermatological, circulatory, musculoskeletal, digestive, pulmonary, reproductive, neurological, systemic, auto-immune disorders, and lesser-known pathologies. 

The second half of the day is dedicated to learning about how to use cups safely and effectively to address scar tissue. While all scar tissue responds to cupping, participants with learn how to specifically address atrophic scars, the recommended methods of application, various measurements of time and recovery related to these types of scars (post-operative timing, old scar, etc.), as well as cupping with hypertrophic and keloid scars. 

The class will end with a written examination, thus completing the Modern Cupping Therapy© Full Certification program. Participants are highly encouraged to bring course papers from previous Three-Day Combination Courses, as reviewing this material is imperative for successful completion of the written examination.

Magnetism and Therapeutic Cupping is an exhilarating one-day course that introduces participants to the theories surrounding electromagnetism and healing practices, as well as how to safely use magnetic cups. Participants will learn how to use manual pump cups with removable magnets (often included in cupping sets), as well as the powerful micro-magnetic cups. Participants will learn how to use magnets for self-care, local applications, magnetic gridwork, nerve tracking, full body indirect magnetic applications, and how to address injuries with magnetic cups.

Advanced Applications of MCT© is a very active, hands-on, one-day class that offers anatomy-specific, detailed cupping applications and clinical conversations about cupping bodywork in professional body working practices. Participants will discuss any clinical concerns or practical questions about cupping bodywork (as needed) in a forum-type setting. Participants will learn specific applications for core/complex muscle groups, including the diaphragm, subscapularis, and psoas muscle group; this section of class is very active with quick hands-on practice times and fast treatment table exchanges.
