What’s in a name?

Having started in 1974, our full-service acupuncture supply company was built on the name “Electro-Therapeutic Devices Inc”. We have seen the landscape of acupuncture, and healthcare, in general, continuously change over the years. Practitioners can trust all our products are in compliance with updated Health Canada regulations, including the amended ISO standard to MDSAP (Medical Device Single Audit Program).

As our family-owned and operated company enters a new generation, we thought we would launch a new name to reflect and celebrate the changing of the times since 1974.

“Opis” is the Roman goddess of resource and abundance. We are most appreciative of our community of global suppliers and mostly our customers, who are OUR most abundant and knowledgeable resource. We welcome Opis Supplies Inc. as our new name as we continue to encourage and enhance the practice of acupuncture through research support and the continual offering of superior products. 

Important Information for Practitioners!

As the rules for people practicing acupuncture and other therapeutic treatments become more widely regulated, it is increasingly important to be aware of the tools you buy for your practice.

You can search on the Health Canada website for acupuncture needles or devices, which are registered with Health Canada. There are many brands of needles and electro-therapeutic equipment available from supplies, which may NOT be registered.

Why is it Important?

Health Canada reviews medical devices to assess their safety, effectiveness, and quality before being authorized for sale in Canada. Using a non-registered medical device (including acupuncture needles) does not guarantee these standards are met. This is important not only for your patients but also for your practice.

Warranty Policy

Electro-Stimulators

This limited warranty covers any defective materials or workmanship as follows:

• Within the one-year warranty period from the date of original purchase, product returned to OPIS Supplies, and proven to be defective upon inspection, will be repaired. There will be no charge for parts and servicing.
• Repairs after the warranty period will be made and charged to the customers on the basis of rates which are available on request.
• Customer will be responsible for any shipping charges and insurance, if any, for the equipment sent to/returned from OPIS Supplies.

This limited warranty covers all defects in normal use, and does not apply in the following cases:

• Loss or damage due to abuse, misuse, neglect, alteration, accident or electrical current fluctuation.
• Use of parts or supplies (other than those distributed by OPIS Supplies) which damage the equipment or cause abnormal frequent service call.
• OPIS Supplies will not be liable for loss of revenue or profits, failure to realize savings or other benefits, or for any other special, incidental or consequential damages.
• This warranty does not cover any consumable part, which has a lifetime.

TDP Lamp

This limited warranty covers any defective materials as follows:

• For a period of 1 year from the date of original purchase, defective equipment will be exchanged for a new unit at OPIS Supplies’ discretion.
• Customer will be responsible for any shipping charges and insurance, if any, for the equipment sent to/returned from OPIS Supplies.

This limited warranty covers all defects in normal use, and does not apply in the following cases:

• Use of parts or supplies (other than those distributed by OPIS Supplies) which damage the equipment or cause abnormal frequent service call.
