Key Highlights:

Introduction to Auriculotherapy: Rikke introduced auriculotherapy as a method that allows practitioners to treat various conditions by stimulating specific points on the ear, which correspond to different areas of the body.

Differentiating Acute and Chronic Pain:

    • Acute pain is typically linked to immediate physical injury and is processed in specific areas of the brain, while chronic pain involves more complex brain activity and coping mechanisms.
    • Rikke presented two case studies: one involving Nicholas, who suffered from acute lower back pain, and another involving Caroline, who experienced chronic neck pain.

Case Study Insights:

    • Nicholas: Treated for acute lower back pain, Rikke utilized a combination of techniques, including addressing jaw tension, which is often related to pain. She employed specific auricular points and tools, such as the Blue Pelper for pressure application and ASP needles for stimulation.
    • Caroline: Her chronic neck pain treatment involved multiple sessions spaced over weeks, focusing on the emotional and psychological aspects of chronic pain. Rikke highlighted the importance of treating underlying issues, such as jaw tension and first rib syndrome, before addressing the chronic pain directly.

Techniques and Tools:

Rikke discussed various tools used in auriculotherapy, including frequency devices and pressure applicators, and emphasized the significance of the VAS (Vasomotor Autonomic Signal) pulse in assessing treatment effectiveness and guiding therapy.

This presentation served as a valuable resource for practitioners and individuals interested in exploring the benefits of auriculotherapy for pain management and overall well-being. She has many webinars and free instructional videos of various auriculotherapy tools.
